NOW Betaine HCl is a digestive supplement combining hydrochloric acid (in the form of betaine HCl) with a vegetarian, acid-stable protease. It is formulated to support normal stomach acid levels and healthy protein digestion, particularly for those whose natural HCl production may decline with age.

Why you'll love it

Digestive support: Helps maintain proper acidic conditions in the stomach for effective protein breakdown.
Enzyme activation: Supports activation of pepsin and release of intestinal enzymes involved in digestion.
Vegetarian formula: Uses a plant-based protease with activity equivalent to animal-derived pepsin, rather than animal pepsin.
Allergen-conscious: Not manufactured with yeast, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut or sesame ingredients.
Quality manufacturing: Produced in a GMP-certified facility by a well-established supplement brand.
